IPL 2018: All hopes pinned on deVilliers as RCB need 47 from 30 balls

Umesh Yadav rattled the KXIP's top order by taking three wickets in one over. Quality batsmen had no answer to his effective bowling. Wickets kept falling and no good partnership could take place. Ashwin Made 30 runs and K l Rahul made a quick fire 47. They failed to play the full quota of 20 overs and were dismissed for 155. Umesh Yadav was the pick of the bowlers.

Royal Challengers Banglore innings analysis after 12 overs
Chasing a modest target of 156, Brendon McCullum and Quinto de Kock came to open the innings for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Axar Patel got the prized wicket of McCullum in the second ball of the first over. RCB captain Virat Kohli came to bat after the dismissal of McCullum and opened his account with a four in the point region. Axar Patel gave away 10 runs and took 1 wicket off the first over of the RCB innings. KXIP captain R Ashwin came to ball the 2nd over of the inning and Virat Kohli greeted him with a boundary of the first ball. Ashwin gave away 9 runs in his first over. Mujeeb Ur Rehman came to bowl the 3rd over of the RCB innings and away only 3 runs in his first over.
Andrew Tye came to bowl the 4th over of the inning and RCB captain Virat Kohli greeted him with a four. After playing few dot balls and taking single of 3rd and 4th ball. Kohli Played a classic cover drive to end the over. Kohli and de Kock scored 10 runs of Tye’s over.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman who came to bowl the 5th over of the innings doesn’t allowed Kohli and Kock to score big in his first 4 balls before cleaning RCB captain Virat Kohli up of a beautiful turning ball which hit the middle stump. A big break-through for KXIP as Kohli was in good touch. Virat Kohli scored 21 run off 16 balls with the help of 4 fours at a strike rate of 131.
KXIP Captain R Ashwin came to bowl the last over of the powerplay and gave 8 runs. Muzeeb Ur Rahman came to bowl his 3rd over and gave 7 runs with a boundary over mid-wicket hit by de Kock. Kings XI Punjab's innings analysis after the end of innings
Kings XI Punjab came to bat first. Chris Woakes bowled the first over for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Lokesh Rahul and Mayank Agrawal came to open the innings for Kings XI Punjab. Lokesh Rahul, who scored the fastest fifty of IPL, started his batting from where he left in the KXIP’s first match.
In Woakes’ first over, Rahul scored 16 runs with the help of 2 sixes and one four. Mayank Agrawal greeted Umesh Yadav with a boundary of the first ball of 2nd over of the innings. Umesh Yadav gave away 9 runs in his first over and KXIP starts of flyer. Come Kulwant Khejroliya and the result is same from Kohli’s RCB, 2nd bowl goes for as lanky Delhi pacer missed the line. Kings XI Punjab won their first game of the season against Delhi Daredevils on the back of Rahul's feat of fastest IPL fifty in just 14 balls.

Brendon McCullum has become only the 2nd player to score 9,000 T20 runs: Former New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum has joined one of cricket's most exclusive clubs by becoming the second player in the history of the game to reach 9000-run mark in Twenty20 cricket. What Mandeep Singh said after RCB's loss to KKR in their opening match: Mandeep, who struck an 18-ball 37 to help RCB reach a challenging 176/7, acknowledged that they were caught off guard when Nitish was handed the ball and the part-timer delivered with rich dividends. "Nitish has bowled just one over till now but has succeeded in taking the big fishes (Kohli and de Villiers). I think it was a gamble from KKR and it worked out well for them," Mandeep told IANS over phone. "Narine has played quite a few important knocks against us. Our bowlers have a separate meeting where they will definitely discuss on strategies to tackle such surprises like Narine", said Mandeep Singh.
How RCB performed in their previous match against KKR: Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by four wickets in their opening match of IPL 2018 at the Eden Gardens.
